In the last article,
“What Should I Do First After Buying Pz?”
we talked about meeting your little companion,
watching for a while,
and choosing a name as you begin your time with Pz.
This time, we would like to talk a little more about something Pz values very much:
giving your companion a name.
- Peri and Poko Already Have Names
- You Can Choose Your Own Names
- Giving a Name Is More Than a Setting
- From “A Character” to “My Companion”
- There Is No Correct Name
- A Name Can Change the Way the World Feels
- You Can Discover Their Personality Too
- The Same Pz Can Feel Different for Everyone
- A Name Is a Small First Step
Peri and Poko Already Have Names
In the world of Pz,
the black-and-white cat is called Peri,
and the quokka wallaby is called Poko.
These are the names we use when introducing Pz.
On the official blog, Facebook, Instagram, and other places,
we call them Peri and Poko so everyone can easily understand who we are talking about.
But after you get Pz,
you do not have to keep using those names.
You Can Choose Your Own Names
In Pz,
you can give your little companions names of your own.
If you like the name Peri, you can keep it.
If Poko feels right, you can keep that name too.
But if you want something different,
you can choose any name you like.
A short name.
A long name.
A cute name.
A funny name.
Anything is fine.
If it is a name you enjoy using,
that is enough.
Giving a Name Is More Than a Setting
In many apps, entering a name is simply a setting.
It may be used as a username
or to tell one account from another.
In Pz, choosing a name is also part of the setup.
But we hope it can mean a little more than that.
A name can help the small presence on your screen feel a little closer to you.
From “A Character” to “My Companion”
At first, you may see:
“Peri, the black-and-white cat”
and
“Poko, the quokka wallaby.”
But after choosing your own name
and using that name,
the way you see your companion may slowly change.
Instead of thinking:
“Peri is sleeping,”
you may use the name you chose and think:
“○○ is sleeping here today.”
It is a very small difference.
But the little companion on your screen may begin to feel a little more personal.
There Is No Correct Name
Pz does not have a rule about what kind of name you should choose.
It can sound like a pet’s name.
It can sound like a person’s name.
It can be the name of a food.
It can be the name of a pet you once loved.
Or it can simply be a name you suddenly think of.
What matters is simple:
it should be a name you want to use.
A Name Can Change the Way the World Feels
The character may look exactly the same,
but a different name can make it feel a little different.
Calling your companion “Peri”
and calling it by a name you chose yourself
may create a different feeling.
Pz values those personal differences.
Everyone does not need to see the same thing.
Everyone does not need to use the same name.
You Can Discover Their Personality Too
After choosing a name,
you may slowly begin to feel that your companion has its own personality.
“Very independent today.”
“You really like sleeping.”
“Oh, you came over here today.”
Small moments like these can build up over time.
Little by little,
you may begin to feel that your companion has its own character.
Pz does not want to decide every part of that personality for you.
We want you to discover it in your own way as you spend time together.
The Same Pz Can Feel Different for Everyone
Even with the same black-and-white cat,
one person may call it Peri.
Another person may choose a completely different name.
Someone else may use the name of a pet they once had.
That alone can make Pz feel different for each person.
The character on the screen may look the same,
but the name,
the feelings,
and the time spent together
can slowly make it your own little companion.
That is something Pz values very much.
A Name Is a Small First Step
Giving a name in Pz is not a difficult feature.
But it can be a small and important first step in your relationship with Pz.
At first,
you are simply entering a name for a character.
But one day,
you may begin to think:
“That is this little one’s name.”
There is no need to hurry.
You do not need to find the perfect name immediately.
Look at your companion.
Watch how it moves.
Then choose a name that feels right.
From there,
your own time with Pz can slowly begin.
Next time:
“How Can You Enjoy Pz?”
You can simply watch.
You can interact and enjoy the reactions.
Or you can let your companion quietly become part of your everyday life.
In the next article,
we will introduce different ways to enjoy Pz.
